Kalala Muzeu Health Center (2005-Present)

The Kalala Muzeu Health Center is Leja Bulela's largest project to date.  The health center, which is located in the rural Tshimbombo Tshimuangi community, serves a population of over 50,000 individuals.  With a maternity ward, pharmacy, and a full-time staff of 10 people, the clinic not only saves lives, but also provides economic activity as the complex requires constant maintenance and infrastructure improvements.

Toilet Upgrades

Toilet Upgrades

The KMHC is constantly changing and our infrastructure improvements are a large part of our expenditures. In 2013, Leja Bulela upgraded the toilets at the site in order to provide more sanitary conditions for users. The new toilets (left) are a vast improvement from the original toilets (right).

Pharmacy and Fridge

The KMHC keeps many medications on hand. After the solar panel installation in 2013, Leje Bulela was able to purchase a refrigerator for the pharmacy. Vaccinations can now be maintained on site!
